WELCOME TO THE YEAR OF THE TIGER

A Tiger blend to fight off colds and coughs!

T for Thyme: a strong anti-infectious oil
I for Inula: a mucolytic oil to loosen mucus in the throat
G for Ginger: to warm cold muscles
E for Eucalyptus: antiviral and antibacterial
R for Ravensara: one of the best antiviral oils and for general immune deficiency

Blend 3 drops each of the above essential oils into a 30ml glass amber bottle filled with a base oil such as grapeseed oil. Cover the lid and shake well. Apply to the chest and back or simply use as a body oil to boost your immune system.

Shelve life: Your blend should last 6 months ensuring lids are closed properly.

Geranium Rose (Pelargonium roseum)

There are over 700 varieties of Pelargonium - sweet, floral fresh and green. The energetic action of the oil is cool and moist making it ideal for eczema and skin infections such as acne and impetigo. It clears heat and inflammation on a cellular level and relaxes the mind.

OCTOBER’S OIL OF THE MONTH

Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis)
One of the few essential oils suitable to use on babies and young children to sooth and calm. Roman chamomile is a gentle  sedative oil to help with sleep and stress. It’s anti-inflammatory properties can help with eczema and other allergic skin reactions,  it’s antispasmodic action benefits musculoskeletal and menstural cramps. Roman chamomile’s warm, apple-like fragrance eases frustration and resentments and helps us to let go of fixed expectations of our own limitations.

Rose Petal Eye Serum 10ml $260
This oil-serum is perfect for the cooler weather to apply in the evening (and day time when your skin is super dry). In winter you can layer this with your night cream on top for a deeper moisturizing effect.

Rosa damascena essential oil works both the skin and emotions and by working on tbe heart chakra can help us to connect with our emotional center, the heart. The seat of emotions according to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and when unsettled symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia may present itself.  Details.

New Perfume:
I have combined my love for chocolate and Rose oil and created Chocolate~Rose. This is a delicious chocolaty scent with the sweetness (but not overpowering) of Rose damascena essential oil. Cocoa absolute (Theobroma cacao) is a dark brown thick absolute extracted from cocoa beans. Some are sweeter and richer, some more bitter similar to dark chocolate.

This is a limited edition due to short supplies of this fine quality absolute.

SEPTEMBER’S OIL OF THE MONTH

Palmarosa Cymbopogon martinii

Known as rosha in India or “Indian geranium” Both the essential oil and dried herb of Palmarosa is used in Ayurveda medicine for neuralgia and rheumatic condition. It’s main therapeutic properties are antiviral and cicatrizant (encourages scar tissue healing).

Like Rose and Geranium it clears heat being Yin in nature and is the perfect summer oil to cool any skin inflammation and temper trauma moments. It’s lemony-rose scent is both soothing and calming. It encourages adaptability and free-flowing attitude.

Make your own cooling face and body mist with the following essential oils:

Sea Breeze Face & Body Mist 50ml
Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martinii): 10 drops
Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia): 8 drops
Lemon (Citrus limon):6 drops
Neroli (Citrus aurantium): 5 drops
Distilled water 50ml

1. Fill up a glass spray container bottle with 25ml distilled water
2. Add the essential oils
3. Place lid over bottle and close well
4. Shake very, very well
5. Fill up the container with remaining 25ml water and repeat nos 3 and 4
6. Ready to use

Shelve life: Your blend should last 4 weeks ensuring lids are closed properly. Best kept in the lower part of the fridge during the summer months.
